Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Glenrothes CC on Sat 11 Sep 2010 at 13.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won Glenrothes CC set SACC 160 to win.

Match report Glenrothes returned to the Woodbridge Oval full of confidence and hospitality. Skipper and former Alfas player, Hopcroft winning the toss and electing to bat first in this 40 over side game. Munoz(4-39), returning from his loan spell in the UK, provided the Glenrothes lads with a few extra balls, 5 runs from the first over and not a ball hit. His second over resumed his normal good line but it all went wrong in the 3rd as a further 5 runs came without 1 coming from the bewildered batsman, Parkes who looked in good nick pushed his elbow at a short one from Munoz and was sadly forced to retire. Hopcroft was facing SACC captain Laundon and was lucky to survive the first over when Pennick blinded by the ever shining sun failed to get to a dolly. After hitting the opener(Parkes), Munoz found his form and removed Ross and Dalis in successive balls. Fletcher, Spain's premier left arm over bowler returned to form and bowled 8 overs which only used 49 balls, great to have him back on form. Taylor yet again bemused the opposition with a varied selection of bowling, returning 2-18 from 8. Crompton gave the batsmen a torrid time with his huge variety of wrist spin grabbing two wickets for 21. Ever green Bellis took the last wicket in the last over. leaving Glenrothes on 159. Well done Hopcroft(44) and Woodhouse(32) with out whom the Scotish team would have looked frail.
SACC opening pair of Ali and Morgan faced an hostile attack from GCC's opening attack, Ali who enjoy's a short bowling attack spanked 29 before a full ball from Lewis removed his bails. The inform Crompton joined a Boycott like Morgan in the middle, smashing the ball to all corners before Morgan, who had just reached double figures, guided one to the square leg fielder who gleefully held on to the ball. Climent went to the middle and went after the remaining runs with out giving Crompton a chance to reach his hundred, a great win for SACC against a great team from Scotland. Looking forward to next years match.
Spains most experienced Umpires Mr Alan Bacon and Mr Ron Graham took care of matters in the middle.
