Match report On a Glorious Spring day the Woodbridge oval welcomed for the 15th year on the trot Tottenhoe CC from Bedfordshire . Winning the Toss SACC were asked to bat and with the presence of a mixture of experience and youth Spanish national Antonio Gomez-Brown opened up with the mighty experience of Geoff Evens. With the pressure of the 1st team eyes on them cautious was the approach until a loose shot from Evans saw another youth team player come and go in Roper before the introduction of the Kieran Perman who join A.Brown with the scores at 60-2 and both played with maturity and punishing the bad balls to the boundary putting on a 99run partnership before Perman fell for a well constructed 38 and A.Brown not out on 80 and being joined by his younger brother Tyler Brown who protected his Brother and Kept him off strike for alot of the nevous 90S before A.Brown finally managed to push one into the covers and celebrate accordingly with hugs aplenty and retiring after scoring 100off 102balls with fifteen 4s . Only a couple of overs were left and SACC managed a respectful 214-4 off 40overs . pick off Tottenhoe bowlers was Wood 2-34 .
A very Social tea was had by all and the Lutonians started very watchful in the approach with the only runs coming off extras or the first few overs with the new ball going to the youngsters of T.Brown and Kieran , Birthday boy Pennick noticeable sulking at midoff !!! Tottenhoe CC innings never really got going with the top score being extras at 31 the SACC 1st rapped things up within 30overs with the score on 126 with the skipper bringing himself on to rap up the rabbits and by himself a ugly maiden and cheap number 10.All the team bowled and fielded well more effort on Wides needs to be considered for the future for the closer matches . Next weekend sees the Might Nomads visit for there 17th year to Alfas normally bring a strong side pre Uk season so alot of the 1st team will be back for this one .
