Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Ibiza C.C on Sat 12 Nov 2016 at 1.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost Ibiza find a winning streak.

Match report For only the second time in 23 years Ibiza CC have won the Saturday game against the Sporting Alfas first team to claim the Andrew Bond trophy.

The trophy, named after one of the founding members of the Albir based club is played for annually, normally in November when the Islanders take the short trip across the Mediterranean to grace the Woodbridge Oval with their cricketing and social skills.

Alfas batted first. Ibiza, well marshalled by first time tour skipper Sam Gooda, restricted the home side to 110 for 7 off 35 overs. Man of the match Steve Hadlow was in fine form for the visitors taking three wickets and bagging two fine catches.

In response, the Ibiza batting remained composed and assured to pass the total required with seven wickets in hand in the 27th over. Sporting Alfas were gracious in defeat and will be hoping for better things today when their Sunday side take on the tourists, hopefully still struggling from their Saturday night celebrations.

Congratulations to all involved from two clubs that epitomise the spirit and ethos of cricket in Spain.
