2- Wishlist
JCR confirmed the following clubs and regions had been successful in their wishlist bids.
Lanzarote-new flix mat and cricket balls
Malaga region Assistance with ground development and training equipment
Madrid CC Net lanes and a flix mat
Costa Blanca region (San Fulgencio, Torreveija and Orihuela) Flix mat and training equipment
Cataluyna – Junior equipment and net facility
The directorate unanimously agreed that the process for obtaining the information for the wishlist will revert back to the format of 2009, that is to say, any changes or decisions made regarding the wishlist will be made collectively by the directorate.
3-Barcelona Ground
JCR stated that the Barcelona region had received a 600,000 euro grant from the Cataluyna government to develop a new ground with a capacity for 5000 spectators and to teach cricket in schools in Cataluyna. Cricket Espana will be involved in this project along with ICC Europe and the Cataluyna Cricket Association will continue to work under the auspices of CE, who continue to remain the sole governing body for cricket in Spain. JCR is to work closely with Cataluna Cricket Association and ICC Europe to keep the CE directorate and members updated on the ground situation.
4 – National Side
GW confirmed the success of a triangulat tournament at La Manga which took place the last weekend in November. A Spanish Select XI , a Belgium Select X1, and a side comprising of players from the Cataluyna region took part. Spain won 2 and lost 1 of their matches, full report on the CE Website..
The CE Directorate also decided that after the ICC Division 3 Twenty20 tournament in Belgium next summer that there will be a seperation of duties from the role of Director of Cricket and National team manager.
5-AGM
The CE AGM will be Saturday 29th January, starting 12 noon at Las Ramblas Restaurant, near Campoamar Golf Club..
6-CE League
The CE league was discussed at length at the League meeting in December, but it was decided prior to that by the CE Directorate that the Director of Cricket will not be involved in any appeal process that may take place in the league next season..
The directorate also agreed to accept the proposals made by David Stirton regarding the name changes required to comply with CSD.
7-Junior Update
Spain have agreed and been approved to send an Under 19 side to the ICC Europe Division 2 tournament in the Isle of Man next summer..
8-Umpires
Dave Moore (league umpire co-ordinator) was invited to sit in on this part of the meeting.
The CE Umpires are planning to form an “Association” starting in 2011. For legal reasons the word Association can not be used in the title, so they will go by the acronym S.O.U.R.C.E (Scorers, Officials, and Umpires Representing Cricket España). Further details will follow in due course.
Also, all league umpire appointments will be made by the Umpire delegate on the league committee. Where possible the “Umpires Association” will also appoint umpires for all other cricket matches played in Spain.
9-Website
ICC Europe will be changing their web providers to Yahoo next year. CE have decided to stay with their current providers for the time being and they will re-evaluate providers on a regular basis.
10-Chairman Situation.
With Phil Beal curently being in England for an extended period of time, the Directorate have co-opted Allan Bacon to be interim chairman effective from December 1st 2010. Phil will continue to work with the committee in An “ICC Europe” liaison role whilst in the UK.
11- AOB
Turre situation.
Mojacar have expressed several concerns regarding the actions of Turre CC. The CE secretary will invite two members of Mojacar CC to express their concerns in person to JCR and NB to try and resolve this situation.
