Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Mountain Ash CC on Sat 04 Sep 2010 at 13.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC return with a good result.
Match report
After winning the toss and putting SACC in to bat, the fielding side must have wished they could have turned back the clock, fielding 11 well Benidormed players, Mountain Ash supporters watched in horror as the ball flew to all corners of the Woodbridge Oval, Alfas reached 275 from the shortened 35 overs, Spencer reaching 74 and Crompton 100 the top scorers. Spain junior Jamie Roper opened for Alfas and troubled the welsh lads with a good spell, keeping the ball on the off side and grabbing 2 wickets for 27 from his 5 overs. Paul Taylor tied up from the other end, his figures of 0 for 36 from 7 overs not really telling a true story as unusually the SACC lads dropped a few. Fletcher bowled his 3 overs well 0 for 25 again not looking as good as they should,16 coming off the edge. Crompton and Spencer finished off a good days work claiming 7 wickets for 90 odd runs between them. Alfas junior Brown finished off a good days work after taking 2 excellent catches in the field bowled out the last Mountain Ash batsman. the game was followed by a BBQ and a few cold ones. Mountain Ash presented SACC with a well produced plaque which will enhance the Lewis hut and remind the Alfas lads off a greatly appreciated bunch of tourists on a mission.
Next week we look towards Scotland, Glenrothes return for their annual tour.
