Valencia v Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday on Sun 30 May 2010 at tbc
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won Valencia well beaten by SACC 1stX1

Match report Valencia entertained SACC 1st X1 at La Manga, and asked the visitors to set a total which delighted SACC but on a wet track the Valencia bowlers kept the opening pair Spencer and Howe quite as the ball was a little uneasy to read off the wicket. As the sun shone through and the square becoming easier to play the Alfas pair as always looked in control, then with the score on 36 from 8 Spencer(23) felt a little unlucky to be caught behind. Crompton walked out and survived a few scares as the Valencia bowlers carried on the attack, with Crompton taking the front the score raced to 137 from 24 before Howe(27) some what behind the strike rate but giving his partner much of the bowling was caught in the very long deep one handed by Safraz who looked at his hand in disbelieve as the ball stuck. Crompton was then helped along by Pennick who as ever looked immense at the crease and kept taking the singles to give Crompton the strike. When Pennick(11) fell LBW, Muñoz kept the score ticking along and Crompton(111) reached his maiden league century, a very well controlled innings with some fantastic strokes including 2 very long sixes over the heads of Valencia deep mid wicket at least 70 meters. With 180 on the board it was left to the SACC middle order to take the game away from Valencia which they achieved with Muñoz 21 Ur Rehman 24 and Laundon 10 the total reaching 260 from the allotted 45 over's.
Muñoz opened the Bowling and along with Laundon left the team thinking that maybe 260 might not be enough with 21 coming from the first 2 over's but normality returned and Muñoz struck Bowling Sarfaz in his 2nd over. The impressive Navid was joined by Wasim and the pair took the score to 57 before the ever young Taylor started on yet another bowling rampage removing 5 Valencia batsmen in yet another impressive display of slow left arm majestic bowling. Laundon removed 2 and Lupson 2 as the Valencia innings closed on 104. But the hero in the field was Taylor, who´s figures of 5 Wickets 29 runs from 9 over's keep us all guessing as to when this master might decide to give the youngsters who play against him a chance.
Next week Alfas return to the Woodbridge Oval playing Madrid, who have given the Alfas team a few frights over the years and will turn up with a burning desire to beat our boy´s.
Come down and watch 1pm start all welcome.
