Match report typical start to a cricket season, no umpire, no ball no new scorebook , no keys , no long sleeve jumpers and an awol cricketer, but still a great game of cricket with everyone at sacc getting involved.After being told to bat by the opposition skipper volanteers were hard to come by , plus with many not realising its the cricket season with only 5 players at the ground , Peter packiam and robinson were thrown in the deep end, Packiam his normal cavalier way cutting and pulling the ball to all parts before somehow off Braithwaits first ball for 2010 smashed it too backwad point and a one handed diving catch was taken by curness..... yes the shock was hard to over come, robinson soon followed along with Tait , which brought Pennick to join Marrinerin the 14th over with 71 on the board.Marriner looked in good touch as always befor egiving his wicket away to curness.Braithwaite bowled very tight giving nothing away and taking 15-2 .pennick accumulated runs with singles off the 1st ball of each over and sacc reached 123-5 before vice captain, walked in and decided to go for the attack smashing a quick 30 and putting on 70 for the 7th wicket , as wickets fell Skipper was getting close to his 100 when on the last ball of 39th over Mcinnes too a quick single much to the amusment of the whole ground to deny Pennick the full last over , eventually it came down to needing a 4 of the last ball against Howden and got there a very exciting climax to the the 1st Innings. sacc 235-8 .
XL Club started very Brightly with Norton and Nix trying o hit ever ball to the leg side , as the new ball got older so did the sacc attack , before Norton got a ripper from Cowley whick Mcinnes took well behind the stumps.Evans got sorted by pitts off the bowling of PAckiam after moaning to pitts all 1st innings about not giving Lbws , Pitts duely obliged in raising his finger!!!! and that was it for the wickets as Geddes came in and carried on hitting the ball around the park and helped bobby Nix reach his 1st 100 at alfas and winning the game quite easily in the end against a tied looking sacc side , great warm up atch for everyone .
