Match report Valencia Green visited the Woodbridge Oval and received a lesson in quality cricket, electing to bat first the Valencia lads never got to grips with the Alfas attack of Munoz and Afzal, Muñoz having Attiq caught behind by Ali for 0 in his first over, After 9 overs and with only 19 runs scored Laundon entered the attack and removed Butt again well taken by wicket keeper Ali. With the pressure being kept on, Valencia never really got going and Wasim got Nisar well caught by Pennick in the deep and bowled Imran. Ever green Taylor ripped through the middle order taking 5 wickets for 6 runs in only 5 overs fantastic performance. Afzal claimed the last wicket getting out Farhan caught by Howe at mid off.121 all out.
Spencer and Howe opened for SACC and are making a great job of it. Facing a really hostile Valencia bowling attack with the ball certainly flying, the pair took the score to 75 before Howe(34) flashed at one and was unlucky to be caught in the covers, Crompton walked in and shortley walked out as Akmal got him with a good yorker, Akmal removed Ur Rehman as well in what seemed a SACC collapse, but Ali(31) and Spencer(50) made sure of the win in the 23rd over. Yet another great display by SACC enjoyed by a good crowd at Albir.
Next week the team face a select X1 from the Cricket España League this really should be a tough challange for the SACC team.
