Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Barcelona CC on Sat 09 Oct 2010 at 1pm
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost 218 all out 14 to many for SACC
Match report
Barcelona came down to the Woodbridge Oval and won a tightly contested game by 14 runs. Winning the toss and batting Barcelona got of to a cracking start as Munoz and Lupson failed to restrain the onslaught. With 65 on the score board from 7 overs it was decided to slow things down and Crompton and Spencer did just that with the ball and the run rate. Both bowling with great control Spencer taking 5 wickets for 27 runs Crompton 1 for 41. the game looked to be back in SACC control. Newcomer Fell(2-39) along with Pennick(1-38) carried on the good work and a total of 218 was set.
With the score board ticking over nicely SACC player Ali fell playing across a straight one which removed his middle peg. 21 for 1 from 3 overs. Spencer and Crompton carried on and with the score on 70 Spencer was unlucky to get a edge on a quick one out for a well taken 44. 22 more runs had been added when Crompton(24) was unluckily run out by a great pick up and throw which left him 3 meters short. Pennick and Climent kept the board ticking but after Climent(11) was bowled by one that nipped back SACC suffered a mini collapse, Munoz Abbas Laundon and Barker fell for less than 30 it was always going to be a big ask of Pennick(26) Lupson (34) and Fell not out for 7. SACC 204-10 in the twilight of yet another great day at the Woodbridge Oval.
