Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Nomads on Sat 15 Oct 2011 at 12.30
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost Nomads set to many for a young SACC X1

Match report Nomads back for the second time this year enjoyed a excellent win against a younger than usual SACC. Batting first the Nomads batting pair of Style and Brockton never got going against the SACC bowlers. They plodded along at a dismal 3 an over for 25 overs before the introduction of spin allowed the home side first blood. 4 stumpings changed the scorecard as batsmen walked by the ball and Morgan kept removing the bails. Brockton reached 72 and Hardy 24, right at the end insured a challenging 235 was reached. Taylor the pick of the bowlers taking 4 for 71. Keiren Perman again showing how much he is improving 2 for 18 including the hard hitting While. Leo Laundon also showing he is a chip off the old block by bowling well.
SACC opened with Pennick and the ever youthful Taylor, neither looking troubled by a fairly tame Nomads attack, Pennick unluckily nicked one behind and fell for 8. Crompton hit some sublime cover drives then as the score reached 40, a change of bowling gave Hussey his first of 5 wickets, Crompton (22)caught at gully by Hardy. Waqar(0) came and went, then Fletcher(6) not looking happy at the chase gave up his wicket, Mark Perman spanked a 4 then missed a straight one from While. Anton Bodnerac in his first senior game, the next to fall clean bowled by Hyam. Laundon and Morgan then started to chase the runs before Morgan(21) skied one and was held in the deep. Keiren Perman(3) then helped get the score up by a few more, he was well caught trying to push the score along. Leo Laundon then joined his father at the crease, the pair taking the score to a respectable 157, before Nomads Captain James While called upon his strike bowler Hussey, who produced the perfect first ball and clean bowled the 10 year old. Hussey returning a very respectable 5 for 11 from 5.1 overs.
As always the game was enjoyed by a good group of cricket followers, the players retired to the cabin for tales of woe and merriment.
Sporting Alfas will be pitching the 1st Team against the winners of the Barcelona league this coming Saturday, in what should be a fantastic Cup tie.
The game will start at 12 o clock and a warm welcome is guaranteed.
