Match report Batting first SACC struggled to score quickly against a steady Cryptics attack,reaching only 171-6 in their allotted 40 overs. Cowley 44, McKinstry 22, Pennick 25, and Gomez-Brown 26, with Cryptics captain Alex Hutchinson taking 2-22. A special message of thanks must go to Alex for bowling both of the young SACC Colts players who had joined the Cryptics ranks for the day. Taking the field SACC again lacked consistency with the ball with some wayward bowling and poor catching (6 drops!). The old saying "Catches win matches" would definitely been true today! Congratulations to Chris Ward who scored his first 50 a day after his 45 birthday. Chris ended with 79 but was ably supported by Barras 32 and M Ward 19 as Cryptics eased their way to the target with 5 overs to spare. Only Dhondai 6-2-18 and Cowley 8-1-22 showed any control with the ball. Congratulations to Cryptics for a great win and a special thanks for showing excellent sportsmanship throughout. We look forward to seeing them again next year.
