When these two great teams meet it amounts to a re-run of the ASHES, this particular ashes trophy belongs to a great cricketing legend and dear friend Jack Hyams. Jack ask´s X1 local players to come over every year and play against Sporting Alfas CC, the game is indeed an intense affair as neither team are willing to give up the chance of looking after the Ashes for the forthcoming twelve months. This years event was has always an incredible day when players from the UK and our team got to grips with an above average sunshiny day. When play started at 1pm the heat was really turned up and SACC batsmen had to graft hard to amass 304 runs against a solid but well Benidormed JHX1 bowling attack, Spencer 79 and Nadeem 66 highest scorers
SACC bowlers kept a tight grip on the Jack Hyams bats men and reduced the visitors to 132 all out with Thewless the only one making any runs.
A special mention must go to Wicket keeper Ross who took 5 catches for the away team.
As always SACC look forwards to 2012 when the Ashes will be contested again.
