Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v La Manga CC on Sat 19 Mar 2011 at 1pm
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won Alfas Beat La Manga by 70 runs.

Match report La Manga visited the Woodbridge Oval on Saturday the 19th March. Alfas winning the toss and electing to bat first. Howe and Muñoz got the home side off to a flyer the score reaching 32 in 4 overs before Howe(10) played across one and was gleefully caught by the Keeper. Crompton joined Muñoz and the pair looked to be going well as the score raced to 55 when Crompton(14) missed one that cut back on him from Ravi Panchal, one of Spanish crickets up and coming youngsters. Climent arrived at the crease and watched Muñoz carry on enjoying his cricket and in the 13 over with the score on 82 Climent(3) again tried a big shot and was clean bowled by Harris. Birthday boy Fletcher enjoyed his Cricket club present and walked out to the middle at number 5. Muñoz after 16 overs of relatively easy going was adjudge LBW. Out for 63. Ur Rehman, making this his first seasonal game, left quickly for only 4 runs. Morgan hung around and with Fletcher took the score to 171 before Fletcher(47) looped a catch back to the bowler. Skipper Laundon strode out and along with Morgan took the score past 200
before Morgan (20) joined his team mates back in the hut. Lupson walked in and set about the young La Manga attack for 5 balls 4 6 4 2 out. Taylor(9) coming in at 10 with 8 overs left enjoyed the fight until a good yorker from Vine, another Spanish under 19 player, removed his stumps. Jamie Roper(4) joined Laundon(50) and the pair took the score to 288-9.
Chasing 288 is never easy, the La Manga pair of Brook and Brook set about the task with look of hopefulness. Lupson starting his first game bowled awfully and 28 came off his first 3 overs. Laundon at the other end removed Brook(2) junior, LBW Muñoz replaced the out of touch Lupson and bowled equally as poor 22 runs from 2 overs. Ur Rehman was given the ball earlier than expected and removed Rose(9) with his second ball. Blawn coming in at 4 enjoyed himself and along with Brook hurried the scoreboard along until reaching 22 tried one big shot to many and was held by Fletcher off Ur Rehman. Rose K(1) then gave away his wicket to an unusually out of touch Taylor. Ravi Pancal joined the evergreen Brook and the pair took control of the game andnever looked in trouble until Birthday boy Fletcher Spanish crickets premier left arm over bowler, took his opportunity and had Brook(83) caught behind from one that jumped at him and then caught Panchal(48). With the sunlight fading the bowlers slowed down the pace and La Manga finished on 217-6.
Sporting Alfas would again like to thank the crowd, who turn up every week to enjoy the atmosphere at Spain's number 1 cricket venue.
