Madrid v Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday on Sat 28 May 2011 at 11 am Start
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won madrid set Alfas 165 to win
Match report
Sporting Alfas travelled to La Manga for an home game? Winning the toss and asking Madrid to bat. Madrid got a helping hand Fletcher opening bowled as though he had spent two hours in the back of a small car, Lupson then helped Madrid with an extra ordinary variation in pace and direction. The away team reaching 71 after 15 over. Spin was called upon and Spencer(6-41) and Crompton(2-46) yet again proved their international quality by taking 8 wickets and leaving Alfas with only 164 to chase, Laundon taking the other 2 wickets his 9 overs costing a paltry 19.
Chasing is not always easy and Khan along with Reid had Ali and Spencer dancing around with an early barrage but at tea SACC enjoyed a drink with 35 - 0 under the belt. The introduction of Brodbrick made sure the Alfas lads watched the ball. neither wanting to lose their wicket to a future spanish ladies international.Ali finished the game with a mighty 6 also leaving himself 6 short of a century, Spencer on 61 must of been man of the match.
SACC return to the Woodbridge Oval next week to face the hostility that Valencia Green normally produce. The game will start at 1pm and all visitors will be made welcome.
