Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Earlham Village CC on Sat 01 Sep 2012 at 1 pm
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won Close thing at the Woodbridge Oval
Match report
Tourists return to the Woodbridge Oval and as always a great day was enjoyed by the players and supporters. Invited to bat SACC openers McKinstry and Taylor never managed to bother the scorer´s, 0 for 2 from 2. Not the start either team had expected. Evans and Fletcher had a battle on as the new ball continued to make life at the crease difficult, runs came very slowly with the compination of good bowling and longer than normal grass. 50 finally came up in the 14th over which also got the 3rd wicket as Fletcher(33) gave White his only wicket of the day. Pennick and Evans took the score along to 89 before Fletcher, now Umpiring, adjudged Evans(39) LBW in the 27th over. Pennick(29)followed Evans back to the cabin. 89 for 4 from 27. Youngster Waqar and Pakiem took a few quick singles until Waqar hit one upwards and was caught 113 for 5, As often written one brings two and Pakiem followed in the next over. 7 overs left and the future batting as Jack and Keiren Perman both future Spanish players aged 11 and 13 batted out the final overs to frustrate the Earlham bowlers and give SACC a chance of winning with a lowly 146 set.
