Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC win the John ´Billy´ Morgan Trophy

Match report Glenrothes Cricket Club returned to the Woodbridge Oval and with them came a new Trophy The John ¨Billy¨ Morgan Annual Cup, very kindly donated by Glenrothes in memory of our ¨Billy¨. Glenrothes decided to bat first, the team arrived after a successful year in Scotland in which the first team had won the league. Alfas bowlers again bowled well and wickets fell very steadily, Hopcroft the first to go hitting one at Pennick who made no mistake in catching the ball. Greaves looked good until giving Laundon the chance to repay Pennick.
A fine bit of fielding by Pakiem had Harrison run out then Taylor held on to one and Glenrothes top order were back in the shed. 4 for 42 from 14. Fell and Taylor Bowled superbly, the ever green Taylor returning a miserly 12 runs from 7 excellent over´s. Fell 6 over´s 9 for 2 which included 3 maiden´s. Jamie Roper again proofed his worth bowling 5 tight overs and grabbing a wicket. another youngster also made his mark Kieran Perman after showing good control in the 2nd eleven added a first team scalp to his record, 2 over´s for 7 runs.
Crompton finished off the game his five over's going for 13 runs but nipped out 2 Glenrothe´s batsmen. 115 for 10 from 38 very well bowled Alfas over´s.
After a very enjoyable tea, Alfas pair Pennick and Muñoz set off after the runs.
Muñoz in T20 mode after last weeks visit to Corfu with the national side hit 20 from 12 ball´s. 1 for 32 from 4 over´s. Pennick was then joined by Crompton who was also back from the tournament, the pair took the score to 100 before Miller surprised Crompton with a straight one after a few wayward balls. Pakiem(8) then help Pennick(43) through to the finish. 116 for 2 from 17 over´s.
