Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Sunday v Totternhoe CC on Sun 10 Mar 2013 at 1pm
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost Close finish gives Totternhoe victory
Match report
Totternhoe challanged SACC 2nds to a T20 and in a tight finished took the win.
Batting first the TCC batsmen never got going against the Alfas bowlers, plodding along at 5 an over, only Alfas player Gomez Brown doing any damage, he reached his 50 for the second time this weekend, Wood and Scott both out for 12 Chire reaching 24 and guest player Barry making 5. Extra´s on 18 the third highest scorer. Nix And Byrne went along nicely 50 reached and no wickets then as can happen a little change of luck and Byrne missed one bowled for 27. Nix got shot out by a bewildering LBW decision that only the Umpire appealed for.
Goodhand played one on to his own stumps. 12 needed 2 overs left an easy finish looked on Laundon on 25 managed to hit one to the grateful Gomez Brown out for 25 then Hogan Brown and Braithwaite managed to add only 10 more runs from the remaining 11 balls leaving SACC 2 short. A fabulous finish to a good tour for Totternhoe but a sad day for the Alfas team. Totternhoe gave a lovely farewell speech, thanking SACC for the friendship shown over the 4 days, the cabin staff for the tireless work keeping all well fed. Finishing with the hope that they would be invited back next year which obviously SACC chairman Kevin Laundon responded to, stating that he hoped Totternhoe would return for more than one more year.
The Nomads are here next weekend, Friday Saturday Sunday and Monday, 1 pm start on all days.
