Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won 25 run victory for mid week eleven

Match report A mixed Sporting Alfas side enjoyed a win against a touring Old Doms X1 in Albir for the 5th time. Winning the toss Old Doms Captain Mark Hunt kindely invited the hosts to set a score. SACC never really got going and an under par total of 182 was set. Four SACC batsmen reached two figures, Shahzad top scored with 56. Youngster Bobby Nix fell short of his retirement on 48 and Keiren Perman and new boy David Elvis Keegan both finished on 27. 2 Run outs and a cruel stumping the best returns for the Old Doms Attack.
Chasing a low score is never easy and when Bichien fell for 4 the Alfas side started to feel confident but Perry steered the ball through the covers many times before Bellis had him caught. First time tourist Brown exceded expectations and reached his fifty with a six. SACC bowlers then took control and wickets fell regulary James Wallington Smith taking his first wicket in an SACC shirt. Watch out for this name, a very bright future is awaiting this Young player. Leo Laundon also took 2 wickets including Old Doms wicket keeper, Last, who wipped of the twelve year old bails first ball. Revenge is sweet.
Two Old Doms players deserve a special mention 9 year Kenny who enjoyed a long knock on his first tour and reached 3 runs, John Anstey who travelled from Austalia to be with his team.
