Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won New Team Levante scare Alfas 2nds

Match report ECCL new boys Levante Cricket Club travelled down to The Woodbridge Oval, and after electing to bat first scored an under par 157 from the 35 over´s on offer.
Bowling first the SACC second string took control as Tyler Brown and Kieran Perman bowled excellent 4 over spells and removed the top order batsmen. Braithewaite made the ball move around like a kite on a windy day and unluckily did not get a wicket until his second spell, Graham HUnt got after anything short and quickly got into the 30´s before an excellent catch by Braithewaite at 2nd slip ended his innings. Kieren Perman had already took 2 good catches before his bowling brought Hunts stand to an end. Pilkington was the second Levante player to trouble the bowlers and hit a fine 50 before Braithwaite had him caught at gully by Nix, Cooper also got amongst the wickets having Little stumped by Bryne´s and Laundon holding on to one from Murphy, innings over for 157 from 33.1 over´s.
Nix and McKinstry started for SACC but after spanking a 4 Nix gave Pilkington and Levante there first wicket. Laundon joined McKinstry and watched in horrer as McKinstry hit one to Bhavin and called for a single Bhavin threw down the stumps with McKinstry well short, 15 for 2 from 4 over´s. Tyler Brown then batted like an old pro as he and Laundon took the score towards the hundred mark, wides and no balls helping the SACC score along, Laundon was bowled after drinks and then an amazing collapse occured, Cooper, Byrnes and Marriner all returned to the hut without troubling the scorer. Perman junior also only knocking a single. from 102 for 2 to 103 for 7 a great upset looked on as the Alfas regulars looked on in disbelieve. Tyler Brown also fell for a creditable 43, 50 runs needed and the tail needing to wag strongly, Keane on debut was having non of it and gave the bowling attack some long handle reaching 37 and hitting eight 4´s the target of 158 was passed with out further loss. SACC will need to rethink the middle order for future games.
