Match was Drawn bad light on first day of season.
Match report
On the first day of the season SACC entertained a United CRicket team from Barcalona, the visitors batted first and set about the SACC bowling attack with an airiel route chosen, which showed up the lack of preperation the home side had done and although the ball often reached a pair of hands only one catch was taken in the first third of this match, 82 runs before Waqar finally got rid of Ali whome had amassed 62 of the total, The run rate steadied but the SACC bowlers still were bemused by the lack of catches held on to. The introduction of Spain´s finest left arm over bowler, Ben Fletcher, finally seamed to steady the nerves and catches began to go tho hand as he claimed the last six wickets from seven overs for a miserly 28 runs, Pennick, Spencer and Crompton also getting one each, Target set at 263, slightly above par at the Woodbridge Oval, Albir.
Spencer led the way in the run chase and with the help of Pakiem who retired hurt, Crompton 13 and Fletcher 12, but with only 90 needed and 10 overs and 8 wickets left bad light changed things so Spencer(75) and Laundon (27) retired and gave both the bowlers a chance to slow things down and the younger batsmen´s a chance to show but only three more overs prooved posible and the game ended with 175 on the board and 7 overs short.
