Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won Presentation Night

Match report Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Presentation night was held at the Rober Palas Albir on Saturday the 15th December. Players and Social Members met in this impresive hotel to celebrate the end of another succesful season at the Woodbridge Oval. Chairman Kevin Laundon welcomed all the guest´s and mentioned the succes that SACC have achieved again this past season. The Sunday side winning the Development league and also the T20 2nd Division, this was a fantastic achievment as SACC try to bring through as many Academy players as possible every year, and the side won both leagues comfortibly, The Batsman of the year award went to Skipper Geoff Evans, Bowling award was won by Bob Nix and the fielding award won by Ian Byrne.
The First Eleven had an harder season and only managed second place in the ECCL division 1 and the T20 first division, but as often happens, in the Spanish play offs, the team pulled off two remarkable wins to regain thier rightful spot at the top of Spanish Cricket, beating two sides from the Barcelona Division. The semi final on Saturday SACC batted first and amassed 212 dismissing Minhaj for 152.
In the final on Sunday SACC were invited to set a score and it looked as though Cataluyna CC had made the right decision as SACC were all out for a lowly 123, but after reaching 35 the introduction of SACC´s spin twins ripped apart the Catalunya batsmen and they fell all out for only 76 runs. SACC champions of Spain.
Mark Perman won the award for Clubman of the year for his tirless effort throught the 2012 season both with the Academy and around the ground.
Keiren Perman picking up the Junior player of the year so a great night for the family. Jason Outhwaite was thanked for his work in the cabin and Paco for his help on the ground. The night ended with a very exuperant dance display by Marc Perman and Ben Fletcher who surrounded by the juniors showed a few moves Madonna would have enjoyed.
