Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Madrid on Sun 05 May 2013 at 1pm
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC beat Madrid.
Match report
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas 1st X1 204 for 1 beat Madrid 202 for 8
For the second time Madrid elected to bat first and again looked in deep trouble against the pace of Mohib and Roper. Mohib snatching the first 2 wickets, Baker nudging one to Brown the Alfas Keeper and Langhans smashing one at Fletcher at wide second slip. SACC looked again in complete control. Duriel with 19 well taken runs then followed with a nudge to Brown this time off Roper. Hall and Wilson then dug in and annoyed the SACC bowlers with a great show of patience, hanging around for 20 over´s before Muñoz hung on to one in the deep, Wilson falling first on 32, Crompton who should have had more reward for his efforts today. His 9 over´s going for 44 runs but he was owed a few more wickets from his team mates. Spencer 8 overs for 24 but again unlucky not to have had more than his 1 wicket, which was the Madrid top scorer Hall, who had reach a very stylish 56 runs. Woodward showed flair in his rapid 37, Roper claiming his wicket first ball second spell. then grabbed Hakim with the last ball of the over, giving him figures of 6 over´s 3 wickets 25 runs, a good days work again for the up and coming Spanish youngster. Muñoz also got a wicket, catching one of his own bowling. Not a good day in the field today as Madrid deservingly reached over 200 runs. 4 bowling bonus points to SACC.
Spencer today looked as though he was in a hurry to catch a train, stroking the ball to all corners of the Woodbridge Oval, 23 x 4´s and 1 x 6 in his rapid 111. when he fell SACC total was 158, Muñoz admiring his Spanish manager but only on 30 runs. he then took up the challenge and SACC reached the 203 required in the 22 over. Muñoz on 76 and Shazhad 9. Lewis the Madrid wicket taker his 6 over´s going for 66 but his claim to fame will always be clean bowling Spencer.. 5 bonus batting points, SACC taking 19 points for this good batting show.
