Great day at The Woodbridge Oval, first time visitors Kennington, openly surprised by the warmth shown from players and the crowd played out a great game, Openers Watts and Finch Jnr reached 117 before Watts fell, a sharp piece of keeping from Smith stumping the Skipper, wickets then fell steadily as the SACC lads showed the way with the ball, Waqar doing the job and returning 8 overs for 3 wickets, Guest player Abdul took 2 as did The statesman Paul Taylor. 188 for 9 a below par score set. Giving the lads a go is what friendly cricket is about so opening with Taylor and Abdul proved a hit with the crowd. But the run rate always stayed behind the required 5 an over. wickets also fell regularly and SACC middle order was only steadied by Fletcher who hit a well deserved 60 before falling foul of his own temper. Ali also showed a few good hits reaching 21 not out but the run race had reached over 15 an over so Ali and Laundon ended the day unbeaten but 12 runs short.
