Match report SPORTING ALFAS CRICKET CLUB

Sacc welcomed back the return of the Nomads CC for the 18th year , losing the Toss SACC was asked to bowl first , and with the youth being pushed this year opened with Roper and K Perman, Nomads lost the opener Farell early , before the Skipper Brockton came in at 3 who battered sensibly against some good all round bowling from the Alfas Attack Taylor and Crompton proving hard to get away , claiming a couple of wickets along the way before Smith helped Brockton put on 69 for the 4th wicket . Wickets started to fall including another run out from Skipper Fletcher the 2nd match on the trot .Brockton was eventually out for 63 and Nomads finished on 194/7 with Roper 28/2 21/1 both being economical .

SACC response started badly with Pennick one that kept low followed by Munoz who also fell cheaply . Gomez Brown and Brook steadied the ship putting on 52 for the 3rd wicket against some experienced bowling . The experienced Crompton came in for his first knock of the season and his first scoring shot was a 6 over cover , looking very comfortable and in good nick put on a 65 run partnership with Captain Ben before missing a straight one and avoiding a jug on 49. B. Fletcher 38 carried his Team to the finish line with Shaz Mohammad finishing the innings off with a huge 6. With 10 of the 11 players under 40 things are really looking up for the club.
