Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Sunday v Salix C C on Sun 04 May 2014 at 1.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won 160 not enough for Salix
Match report
Batting first after winning the toss, Salix CC found the going tough as the pace of SACC youngsters Perman and Brown left them reeling on 5 for 2 after only 4 overs. 12 year old Leo Laundon was introduced along with 12 year old Jack Perman and showed why the future is bright for Spain. Jack bowling his leg spin, which is a very difficult art, and Leo seam up, neither getting any help from the opposition as bad balls were rightfully punished but only 66 runs taken from the 12 overs they shared, Leo bowling 1 Salix player and getting another caught by N McKinstry who managed to make the catch look difficult and get in the best roll of the match, an honour lost by B Nix for the first time this season. 15 year olds James Smith then joined a slightly older C Cooper in bowling another good spell 1 wicket 13 overs for 60 runs with James leading the way with yet another good display, his off break bowling is causing teams lots of problems. The return of the speed pair finished off the Salix innings the 2 sharing 5 wickets for a miserly 25 runs. A good days work in the field. 160 all out. Tea was taken. Sporting Alfas´s pair of McKinstry and Taylor led the charge and the crowd enjoyed a leisurely 75 run 18 over partnership, which was ended when McKinstry(31) chipped one back to Dillon. 20 more runs added before Taylor, on 37, kindley gave way to K Perman at drinks.
