Match report A quick social match turned into a tense affair as the "nd string SACC team entertained the SACC mid week X1. batting first the mid weeks set off at a steady 4 an over although AGB fell early to gift a birthday present to Waqar.
Shahzad the took a liking to the 2nds bowling and amassed 51 in short time before gracefully retiring, the run rate slowed drastically as Braithewaite took 22 overs to reach his 32. but wickets continued falling at the other end as KP, LL, PG, joined AGB in the under 10 club. Keegan and KL finished of the Midweek innings on 146 when KL gifted Waqar a easy catch to round of an enjoyable first innings.
Youngsters Nix and Mac took the fight to the midweek lads and ran singles at will. unluckily Mac skied one off KP to LL at wide mid on, LL gleefully holding on to the ball with the help of his elbow. THB came and went without troubling the scoreres, then a massif innings from Basherat Ali who took a liking to LL´s occasional short ball but on reaching 36 fell foul of a bowling change and was caught behind by AGB, the same pair took out Stand in skipper Coop´s for a good 18. birthday boy Waqar then took the game into new territory with a well struck 27, helped along by 12 year old JP who also got himself a derserved 28 before falling on the last ball to KL which tied the game, Special mention to Anton who took 3 wickets and stood his ground to finish not out. Bowling award for the midweekers goes to KP who ended his 4 over spell with 2 wickets for only 8 runs. Great day at the woodbridge oval after visiting team with drew at the last minute.
