Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost Lesson for young SACC team.

Match report Sporting Alfas seconds must learn a lesson from this loss to Lancing Manor, after being put in to bat SACC did not make use of the 40 overs and fell well short of a par score. Cooper and Nix got SACC off to a fine start, 64 runs from 15 over´s before Nix on 35 and top scorer was bowled by Radford. K Perman in at 3 followed 2 balls later caught out for 0, Cooper and Brown tried to hold up proceedings but when Brown (11) was out LBW to a full toss a collapse occurred, the next 6 wickets only getting 25 runs between them. Luckily LMCC gave away 30 extras so the total reached 128.
Defending a low score SACC bowlers are on a hiding to nothing although T,H Brown and K, Perman gave it a go with some well paced short bowling, great for the crowd but never takes enough wickets. 50 for 2 from 10 overs both falling to Brown, who bowled 2 full length deliveries, enough said. With the introduction of Age and Spin the pairing of Bellis and J,W,Smith slowed the run rate down slightly with Bellis, playing in his last game for SACC bowling 4 over´s for only 6 runs , well done Geoff. Smith at the other end gave it a good effort and took 1 for 20 from 6. Nix, after top scoring, was chucked the ball and yet again proofed how difficult slow straight bowling can be, 2 wickets for 23, J, Perman also looked in good nick with the ball, mastering leg spin at the tender age of 13 is a tough challenge and his 3 overs cost 19 runs but he did get a few unplayable deliveries down. The game fizzled out in the 30 over with Skipper M, Perman doing the honourable thing and taking the ball with 2 runs needed. 129 from 30.5 overs.
Lancing Manor then enjoyed a night in the hut with SACC players and all wished Geoff Bellis a fond farewell.
