Match report Alfas 2nds travelled to la Manga on a very hot day with the title beyond them but still a vital factor in where the title could end up.la Manga 2nds incuded at least 4 top 1st team players.
The tone was set after inserting them with a high calibre batting display although 6 catches dropped.Using a wealth of variation at his disposal skipper,mark perman tried many tricks to halt the onslaught & managed to get 8 wkts down before they suspected they had enough on 267.Alfas turned to the task of surviving 47 hard overs under conditions akin to the Alamo.
Abdul led the scoring with a nicely played 26 ably assisted by tyler (13).4 wickets down by the 20 over mark.Jack showed a cool head against constant sledging& survived through 12 overs assisted by Ian who employed a never before seen defensive stroke.
Both Jack & Ian(9) soon fell followed by Nix.Young James joined waqar at the crease with 7 overs to survive & a nervous pacing captain only left in reserve.However much to Marks delight Waqar & James stayed out there leaving La Manga wondering how they didn't win.Some Alfas commented that 200 would have been enough but there were no complaints with our draw & 7 points.
There can be no denying the fight displayed by the team
