Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost SACC lose unbeaten record

Match report The only unbeaten league record in the ECCL Premier Division fell this weekend when La Manga beat Sporting Alfas at the Murcia resort.

Riding high with three wins from three, the Albir based club headed to La Manga in confident mood, only to find La Manga recapturing the form that made them a major force in the league last season.

Batting first the home side managed 245 all out with several key players making major contributions of 30 runs plus. Shazad bagged three wickets for Alfas for the cost of just 34 runs.

In reply, Alfas looked well on track initially to chase down the runs, but a major collapse that saw them reduced from 160 for 3 to 191 all out cost them their 100% league record. Christian Munoz top scored with 45 but the last five Alfas batsmen could only conjure up 22 runs between them as La Manga tasted league victory for the first time this season.

The result throws the premier league wide open with the next fixtures seeing La Manga and Alfas entertain Levante and Madrid at their respective home grounds this coming weekend.
