Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas mid week v Nomads C.C. on Mon 20 Oct 2014 at 1.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost Nomads take the match by 75 run margin.

Match report The last game of 4 on a rather hot and tiring long weekend visit by regulars the Nomads. Batting first against SACC the Nomads lost opener Kevin Smith in the first over easily caught by Dell off the bowling of Pennick. The long awaited return of Paul Taylor saw the Nomads strike 11 runs, might it be the comeback is a little premature?. Not a chance normal service resumed and evergreen Taylor regularly beat the bat with his guile. Pennick worked hard and as always gave nothing away but the pairing of Latchman and Brockton managed to stay together until Latchman unluckily pulled a leg (or 2) and asked to be excused. Wickets fell steadily but Brockton yet again proved no mug and battled away to his highest score this tour of 86 before H Marshall bowled him with another unbelievable ball, this one hitting the mat and the wicket. Style showed his pedigree but was undone by Taylor who celebrated his come back wicket with a song, Hussey yet again banged a quick 25 but was well caught by McKinstry off the bowling of new boy Dell who finished off the Nomads innings by clean bowling Hardy. Blumberg entering the arena at the wrong end with only 1 ball remaining was adamant that his fifty would of arrived if only 2 more overs could be bowled. 208 a good score from 35 overs.
SACC Started with Pennick and Mckinstry but the luckless Mckinstry was yet again left asking ´why do I hit the ball to gully´ as he walked back to the watching masses. Laundon and Pennick took the score to 26 before Laundon(3) gave Latchman a test in the slips which he held on to with great delight taking the ball one handed diving forward. Then to show it was not a fluke the same player dived to his right and again held on to the ball to remove Cooper(3). Pennick at the other end must have thought the game was insane as he had reached 39 whilst all this was happening. Then wafted at one that was extremely wide down leg side and unluckily knocked it back on to his stumps. Ashraf had a good knock and reached 17 before losing direction and gifting his wicket to Dixon off Hussey. Marshall and Taylor then batted for 10 overs to spare the SACC blushes in what could have been a very early finish, Marshall(25) done by Brockton in a revenge over and Taylor remaining unbeaten on 19 Keegen batted out the last 5 balls to be unbeaten on 5 runs. 132 for 8.
