Match report On a rare cloudy day at the Woodbriddge Oval, Captain Kevin Laundon invited Tavistock to set a score. with the overcast conditions Laundon bowling up the hill against the wind was unplayable and had Clidden caught by Spencer off the second ball, Lupson, bowling down hill with the wind assisting, was unlucky not to strike, 10 overs gone 17-1 great start. Taylor bowled his 7 overs for 25 having Howsell caught by Lupson for a tidy 24 runs. Muñoz bowled well, claiming Geering, caught behind by the ever present Ali, 5 overs for 11 runs. Wasim bowled excellently getting Cleave caught by taylor and bowling Coe, 2 wkts for 6 runs off 4 overs. Crompton bowled his 8 almost unplayable spin for 29 runs only getting 1 wkt. Lambert stumped by Ali. In the middle of this Lupson ran out Milligen, great throw. Metcalf after a dissapointing bowl last week entered the game claiming the wickets of Hutchins Smith and Morgan to close the Tavistock innings 123 all out,
The target never appeared to be high enough but the Tavistock bowlers set about the task and the opening pair of Spencer and Ufsal were in constant trouble against the Tavistock attack of Hutchins and Morgan. Exit Ufsal for 7, well caught by Milligan at backward square leg off the bowling of Hutchin. Ali set about the bowlers but fell caught at deep midwicket by Milligan, for 18, well bowled Daymond who also had Spencer caught by Coe. Myers fell with his first attacking shot going skywards and being held at cover by Glidden. Wasim raced to 20 before trying to knock the ball out of the Oval and was caught by Cleave at deep gully. Crompton scraped his way to 47 and Muñoz 7 joined him to finish the game, just as the heavens opened. Thanks to Richard Kew for Umpiring and David Myers Snr for scoring.
