Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Tottington C C on Sat 02 Mar 2019 at 1.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won Tottington amass 257, SACC knock them off.
Match report
Tottington arrived safely for the 2019 tour of Albir, surprisingly leaving behind brilliant sunshine after last years snowed out flight schedule. Asked to bat first the tourist´s amassed 257 from a mix of SACC wayward bowling, extras and a bout of fantastic hitting from Hayes,(45), Turner, (92) and Murphy also ending on 45. All the SACC bowlers went at over 6 per over D Walker(1), K Perman (2) and K Roper (2) the only wicket takers. A harsh welcome to competitive Cricket for Captain on the day Adam Alger. Tea arrived and was yet again sublime in its choice of sandwiches, meats, pies and of course fluffy cakes accompanied by hot tea. Officiator Mr Vince O´Reilly allowing the players thirty minutes to enjoy the spread in beautiful surrounds under a clear blue sky. Tottington had brought along a very lively 41 man squad whom enjoyed the action packed first innings and obviously enjoyed the refreshments on hand. Fully expecting to produce a victory at the half way stage. SACC openers Brooke and Wajid set off steadily at the 6 an over until the returning to action Joel Brooke was caught for 10 runs. Alger and Wajid took the score to 85 from16 overs when Wajid fell again caught for 25. SACC´s last wicket to fall was when the score had reached 158 from 24 overs and A, Alger fell caught for 59. Faran again showing his class and Roper returning to SACC as an all out batsman, spanked the remaining 103 runs in 9 overs of mayhem 6 maximums and 8 fours to end the game with an SACC victory in the 33rd over.
Faran Afsal ending on 105 and Jamie Roper 31. It was yet another great performance down at the Woodbridge Oval Albir by the Sporting Alfas Cricket Club playing members.
