Match report Saturday the 15th June and the return of one of our favourite teams SOBS CC, Always a good game and excellent tourists. MCS and Hydan walked out after Sutton Old Boys won the toss and elected to bat first.
Hydan surviving many run out attempts has MCS tried to gain revenge for his own demise the previous day, but he eventually gave Kyle a catch at square leg of a Abdul ball. out for zero which seemed ok for MCS,
Ewe came to the middle and along MCS and with a fair bit of freindly catching took the score to 149 before MCS (62) walked around a surprise straight one from the excellent Hussain. Ashraf gave away a few runs
and kept begging to stay on to the home teams delight. Ewe had really got into the game and reached 88 when Byrne at deep mid on finally caught one which in fairness he tried really hard to miss, running forwards
backwards then having to dive full lenght to take what would have been a dolly if he had stood still. With bowling changes made regulary SACC took the 5 wickets with out anyone reaching double figures and the total
set at 189 from 30 overs. Tea and cake was enjoyed by all with Sutton Old boys yet again giving priase to the cabin staff on the variety of food available. Play resuming after the usual 30 minutes. Laundon and Abdul
strode out to face the ferocious SOBS attack, the score reaching 45 before Laundon fetched one to square leg and was caught. Abdul and Byrne took the score up to 124 when Byrne was shocked by the accurosee of
the throw, run out for 20.Alger scored a quick 26 before the extra bounce from Hydan gave the keeper Watsup a simple catch. Wajid Abdul chasing his 100 then fell in the deep taken by Speedo off MCS, Waqar Ashraf
and George Metcalf scored the final 20 runs to give SACC the victory with 3 balls to spare. Special mention to K; Roper who took one for the team and will be wearing a strapping for a couple of weeks whilst his finger repairs.
