Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Sunday v Intellectuals CC on Sun 08 Feb 2009 at 12.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won by 148runs
Match report
On a Clear Afternoon in February saw the Sporting Alfas 2s start with a Derby win over local rivals the Intellectuals CC.Alfas BAttered first having lost the toss and being put in. Marriner and Pennick put on 105 for the first wicket before Marriner on 21 played over the top of a straight one. Munoz came to the crease and carried on his form from last year and added 52 run partnership in 5 overs before Pennick Retired Hurt on 100. Incame one of the clubs new members Duncan Brown for his first match in 13 years, so he says , and put on a 100 for the 3rd wicket with Munoz, with both reaching their 50s repectively and SACC reached 287 for 3 in 40overs with the Intellectuals producing some very unmentionable bowling Figures.
Intellectuals had to come out blazing to reach such a good total, and blazing they did with both openers skying the ball for Lou brown and Marshall to take comfortable cathes and even with a very inexperienced attack bosting 6 unders 15s , The Intellectuals stutted along to 139 all out .with lewis taking 3for 28 , and lou Brown 2 for 17 and all the other bowlers taking a wicket each.
Mention must be made with 3 familes being represented within the 11, Pennicks, Browns and MArshall, which could have been 4 had Pakiam jnr not been injured.A great start to the season.
