Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas 1st X1 v CE Chairman's XI on Sun 14 Jun 2009 at 13.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Lost Sad end to a sad weekend

Match report On a day of rememberance Alfas 1st eleven never got to grips with the task at hand Although bowling well and taking the odd catch seemed OK the whole ground was under a dark cloud, all the Alfas players went through the motions rather somberly all thinking in thier own way of the loss SACC had suffered, often looking towards the hut and expecting Steve to be watching.
Wasim was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 23 off 7 overs. 3 CE batsmen did well, Khan spanking 30, Sasjad running 31 and Faisal walloping 41.
SACC batsmen fell regulary under a very rapid and unrepentant CE attack. Although on a different day I believe our batsmen would have been stronger, Only Howe(32) and Spencer(23) showed the guts that is required on days like this both reaching double figures and looking like taking the game away from the CE select X1 before being caught.
Thanks to CE for sending a capable side to play in the Andrew Bond memorial game which saddly will have Steven Roy Lewis added.
