Match report
On this very special day when visiting team Old Doms celebrated the 25th year of playing this great game, it was decided by the captains to make it a timed game which is unusual for SACC. After a disscusion in the hut the week before a preconceived toss was won by the Doms captain who asked SACC to bat. Opening pair Muñoz(68*) and Ross piled on the runs reaching 82 before Ross(32) opened his shoulders once to often and saw the bails fly. The next six top order batsmen all failed to enrich the scorecard with only Metcalf(11) batting at 4 reaching double figures. It was left to part time batsmen Laundon(51*), Lupson(48) and Bellis(3*) to give the SACC team a chance of a result in this the last game on the Dom´s Tour. S Dawes, on his debut for the Doms, after making himself unavailable for SACC, removed ex Spanish captain Howe and present skipper Spencer, well bowled Mr Dawes
Old Dom´s never got to grips with the SACC bowlers with Lupson, bowling a long spell, removed the opening pair backed up by Bellis who had Hicken and Dawes caught. Although the ball was chucked to a few player´s the Dom´s never looked for a win and on a day, when the both clubs needed a result, Old Dom´s went away with a deserved draw has SACC did not take 10 wickets. well batted Mr Morris who saw his 50 come up before the returning Lupson got his third wicket.
Well done the Old Dom´s Cricket Club and we hope that you will return soon to enrich our club life. If all touring teams play with your spirit (and drink as many) our club would be thrilled,
