Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC beat Loughborough Outwoods

Match report Saturday started early at the Woodbridge Oval as October is now with us, at 11-40am Skippers Laundon and Hall walked out to the middle and after winning the toss Hall asked SACC to bat, a decision he must regret.
Spencer and Rehman walked out to the wicket and looked bemuzed as Faull bowled his first over, from which 16 runs and the loss of Rehman(4) who spanked the ball square and looked horrified when Hague caught it in front of his nose, half a metre either side and a certain 4 would have been added. 1 over 16 runs 1 wicket an eventful start. Crompton joined Spencer at the crease and the pair enjoyed the next 35 overs playing cricket at its best and not allowing any bowler to settle with a range of shots rarely seen unless on the TV. Both playing with the timing that made Loughborough's bowlers look less than average, although all carried on putting in their best effort and were more than pleased with the enthusiasm in the field.
When the score reached 249 Crompton attempting to force his way to a ton holed out to Brooke's 21 runs short. Spencer carried on playing great shots to finish unbeaten on 168 consisting of 17 x 4s and 4 x 6's. SACC 303-2 a great effort with out using the big hitters in the batting line up.
Loughborough started with a 4 from the 1st ball and lost Skipper Hall to the 2nd ball, well caught by Evans at mid off, and although openers Lupson and Dawes went for 42 from the first 6 overs they had removed another 2 batsmen.
SACC looked to the senior players to thwart the run rate. Bellis taking 1-17 from his 3 overs well overshadowed by his bowling partner Taylor who returned 3 wickets for zero runs from his 3 overs the pair proving age is not a barrier at this level of cricket. With rain clouds looming Skipper Laundon(1 - 4 - 5) joined the attack along with Rehman(1-32-3.2) and finished the resistance offered by the Outwoods last 3 batsman, although Hall senior and walking wicket Robson gave Rehman some disrespectful spanks before Hall took 1 chance to many and fell to his wizardry. Loughborough Outwoods completely outplayed by the SACC side. SACC 303-2 Loughborough Outwoods 112 all out.
