Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC 244 - 4 PCC 190 -10
Match report
Yet again M Spencer led the attack with a quick 104 before pulling his ham string in the 21st over. Ur Rehman unlucky again picking out Tipping at square leg with a hard hit pull which the fielder gleefully held onto after falling backwards. Dave Climent went in at 3 and along with Spencer looked in fine form reaching 56 before holing out to Tipping this time standing upright to take a simple catch. Muñoz tried a trick to many and was clean bowled by McKay for 24 with only 6 overs left Crompton needing to get on with it was caught behind by PCC skipper Turcan for 14 quick runs. SACC captains Laundon 10 and Pennick 4 saw the innings out without further loss, 244 for only 4 wkts.
PCC batsmen Webster and Webb played tentertively under the SACC attack of Muñoz, who bowled to a 8 to 1 offside field, and Howden, Webb the first to fall well stumped by Climent off the impressive Howden. Ur Rehman and Taylor both bowling so well in tandem keeping the batsmen very quite and removed 3 more wickets for only 48 runs from their shared 16 overs, Taylor taking 2 for 23 and Ur Rehman 1 for 25, the introduction of Dawes Junior in his first saturday match saw the away side gain a little in confidence blasting 41 from the youngsters 3 overs. with 10 overs left and only four wkts down the PCC batsmen started to believe a shock result might be possible but Skipper Laundon stopped the PCC lads in their tracks claiming 4 wkts and running out the other 2 batsmen to finish the game just as darkness fell with 2 overs to spare, Crompton bowled from the other end without any luck but gaving the PCC lads a torrid time with some great leggies.
A good day enjoyed in fantastic October sun with a crowd many County teams would be proud of. thanks to all.
