Match report On a very hot octobers day and after the golf tournament had finished the 2 skippers had tossed the coin and for the first time alfas skipper won it and batted first, K pakiam and MP pounded on anything short and full to good effect against some more then usefull openers with only 20 runs coming off the first 6 overs , not many singles were taken but the bad ball was punished with 59 coming up in 13th over , Mp and Karl Pakiam carried on there opening stance till drinks where 100 was on the board without loss , then the dreaded drinks brought the 1st wicket in the 21st over with K.Pakiam falling to the left arme Phitts for 31, Mp carried on to reach his 50 and well deserved and first of many for his new club. Faran Afzal was next in and soon punished anything short hitting a staggering 8 6s in his short stay at the creaseonly hitting the bad ball out the ground , before Noble took his 3rd wicket and Bowling Faran on 97. a few more runs were added before 40over stage and 249 was on the board.Phitts bowling very well for 1 for 21 and Noble taking 3wickets .
Old Linconlnians started very positive in their run chase , with a few misses and top edges the openers reashed 50 in the 10th over with the Keepr ward on 45 of those, Once the yound roper joined the attack wickets started to fall taking out the top bat for 55 and the number 3 in consecutive balls, as the visitors reached 105 at drinks for 3, game on , Bainbridge bowled some good balls amongst some poor balls , and took a couple of wickets , E spencer bowled very well at 13 in a spell when the opposition was going for it and should have had 4 , if Feran could catch one handed and jaime who let one hit him , but did catch the very next ball to give .J roper came on to finish his spell and cleaned up the tail as the OLD L CC finished on 223 all out , with help of 54 extras , 18 byes which must not be blamed on the nameless wicket keeper who has initials of BM , but on the bowlers beating the bat on too many occasions. 33 wides were a poor show for such an experienced attack.but another close game was had by all.
