Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC take apart VGCC

Match report At the Woodbridge Oval SACC entertained VGCC in what promised to be the clash off the titans. VGCC won the toss and delighted SACC by electing to bat. The opening pair of Atiiq(2) and Fazal(8) never got to grips with Laundon and Lupson and both lost thier middle stumps, Bhoja scored quickly to reach 29 before lobbing one up to Crompton, at the other end Lupson had Mustansar(4) caught by Taylor in the gully. Muñoz after having his first three ball sent to the boundry got his revenge Azhar edging one to Ali behind the stumps. Gulzar(29) and Yasar(51) held up the SACC 1st eleven until Taylor invited Gulzar to smash one out the ground which he only managed to hit at Laundon caught. Abbas at the other end did the same thing for Yasar and Crompton enjoyed the glory.143-6 of 22. The run rate had now slowed down and only Nasar with a well hit 27 caused any concern but when he fell to Abbas well caught by Pennick it was only at matter off SACC keeping cool to dismiss the tail end, Taylor got his second wicket when VGCC keeper Akmal(8) lifted his back leg and Ali wipped off the bails. Fazal attempted to hit one over Muñoz at deep mid on, Abbas gleefully excepting the wicket his third which also ended the VGCC batting.
SACC Openers Spencer and Ali walked into an hostile verbal VGCC attack which both enjoy, with 33 runs on the board Ali(16)batting in his normal flambouyant manner, gloved one for an early end to his day. Pennick joined Spencer(15), the verbal battering continued, but these two nearly won the game with some forcefull batting giving no chances and reaching 173 before Pennick(47) was out, LBW to a very rare no bounce straight one, really unlucky. Crompton walked out to join Spencer(86) on a now quite field of play, VGCC just waiting for the end. with Spencer on 94 and Crompton on 4 one run required VGCC gave the ball to I Fazal who threw his first one down, shocking all, and did the same with his second which the umpires called correctly to finish a excellent day at the Woodbridge Oval, 20 points and a few cold ones in the Hut.
