Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas Saturday v Madrid C.C. on Sat 06 Jun 2009 at 13.00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC outplay Madrid
Match report
Saturday's at the Woodbridge Oval always begin with a spin of a coin, Madrid asked SACC to set a score and the game began. It was a tense time with Madrid asking questions with the ball and often inquiring if the Umpires would assist them by removing a SACC batsman. Our openers stood tall and sent the new ball to all corners of the ground at regular intervals. Ali whilst trying to add to his 67 well hit runs the first to exit the batting. Pennick who is in fine form joined Spencer and played very well to carry his bat and help SACC to a HARD TO CHASE TOTAL OF 273 which was two runs short of full batting points. Spencer(63) decided it was time to increase the run rate and was taken in the deep. A poor middle order display sent Skipper K Laundon out to join P Pennick(58) in the middle and attempt to get the required 275 for full batting points. SACC failed by two runs,
Openers Lupson and Laundon had a good start Lupson bowling very well without any luck. Wasim was asked to add gile to the game and returned figures of 6 - 26 off 9 overs a fantastic display in his first 1st eleven game this season. Taylor bowled with great control to Claim 3 - 29 0f 8 overs a real good effort. Crompton claimed the last wicket,
19 well deserved points to SACC and only 4 points to Madrid.
Please follow our lads against a very strong Cricket Espana team next SUNDAY.
