Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas XL Club v Nomads C.C on Fri 14 Oct 2022 at 13:00
Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Won SACC knock off total with 7 overs to spare.

Match report Nomads arrived at the Woodbridge Oval on Friday the 14th of October and SACC invited the tourists to enjoy a bat. Braithwaite and Walker took the new ball and in the third over Braithwaite got the breakthrough when Bradley tried an extravagant pull shot which landed safely in the hands of Keiren Perman at short square leg. The score went along at a steady four an over with Wakefield and Naman taking quick singles regularly until Wakefield took a chance and gently lifted the ball to Ali at mid-wicket of the bowling of Walker, Ormiston came and went quickly giving Braithewaite his second wicket. N, Patel joined Naman and the pair enjoyed the only real stand in the innings, scoring 114 between them and Mr Wides. Eventually N Patel went, run out, when his partner tried another quick single. P.Patel gave Jamshaid his only wicket with Perman again holding on to a difficult catch that came at him with the speed of a balloon. With the overs running out, Smith tried a few tricky shots and reached four when SACC´s ¨keeper¨ read the situation and stood a little wider to take the catch and remove the evergreen Smith. Harding being the bowler who took the wicket. Last over time and Lionel Andrews, SACC XL normal opening bowler was asked to bowl it. Coming in of his long run up with Naman refusing the chance to take the singles offered from the first two balls he gave Walker the easiest of catches, Lionel taking one wicket for zero runs of his three-ball spell. 177 of 30 overs. Teatime and has always an excellent spread waited in the Lewis Cabin, prepared by Chip and Saran.
The chase was on, and SACC XL sent in two new youngsters Jamshaid and Ali, both making their debut for the club. Looking very nervous the pair eventually settled down and began hitting the ball, in true cross bat fashion, to all corners, well one corner where the cows hid. Ali unlucky to play across a rare straight one from Patel and was bowled for thirty-eight, KP another of the XL club youth policy joined Jamshaid and enjoyed watching him reach his fifty and in true SACC fashion Jamshaid retired, after striking seven fours and a mighty six. Andrews after his long bowling spell popped out to the middle and popped back in again after stroking two magnificent singles, Pennick joined Perman and after running a few three´s, in 30 degrees not an easy task, Perman decided to get on with it and struck the ball over the boundary for six, four times and also hit three fours whilst reaching his score of Fifty-three, Pennick ending on seventeen runs, SACC XL thanked the Nomads for coming and sat down to enjoy a few hours of cricket knowledge chat whilst partaking in a few cold ones.
