4.CHAIRMANS & 1st XI CAPTAINS REPORT
Firstly my regret that this year we have again lost players.Johny Morgan & Spencer Dawes have been taken far too soon. I miss both my friends & know both would insist we carry on making SACC a better club.
Thanks to all who have come to the meeting has only people who attend the AGM can really have a voice in the coming 12 months.
I would like to thank D Myers for his work as Ump sec & work with the academy on Sundays.
Jeff Bellis for his work on the ground during a difficult year for him.
M Perman for his support on Sundays plus his committment to SACC.
Jason & Lynn for the work in the Cabin.
Paco who always helps SACC.
Ginny who again provided SACC the stability whilst dealing with the Council.
The rest of the Committee who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
This year the players have yet again done a remarkable job.The 1st team winning the Spanish finals after coming runners up in the league.s.
Yet again the 2nd XI winning the development league & twenty 20 League.
I would like to thank the juniors who all stood up to the challenge.
1st x1 Playing Record--pld 33 won 24 tied 1 lost 8
On the matters arising we have purchased an electronic scoreboard & BBQ.
Matting & Nets are on order.
5.2ndXI CAPTAINS REPORT
What a year!!!!
I thought it would be difficult to follow last years success but the teams response especially from the young players was superb.
Overall we played 28 won 16 lost 10 & 2 abaandoned. However in the league we played 10 won 7 lost 2 & 1 abandoned. We won by 18pts from La Manga 2nds who we thrashed on 2 occassions. In addition we also won the T20 league winning all 6 games. Batting was generally consistent with a number of players chipping in but the bowling won us the league.Seniors,Braithwaite & Nix bowled well but it was the youngsters who were superb. J Roper was very hostile,T Brown was more consistent & K Perman was the pick improving with every game.
Finally I have to mention Spencer who will be sorely missed. In April he had a purple patch where he scored back to back 100s & then 88 not out in Ibiza
6.TREASURER REPORT
INCOME for the year was 16336.73 which was up on last year. This due to Cabin income up by 50%.Also received commission from Albir gardens of 3200.
EXPENDITURE for the year was 15443.30 which was up on last year. This was due to Cabin repairs & purchase of Electronic Scoreboard
PROFIT of 923.43.This would have been higher but only just received League fees of 2100.
7.FIXTURE SEC REPORT
Excellent season with 75 matches played.Less cancellations than last year but still a couple in Sept/Oct.Only downside was less Midweek games as most sides wanted to come over the weekend. Also in Nov had the Celtic Tourny involving 4 teams over the weekend.
Very successful & hope to increase teams next year.
We also used a new Hotel-Rober Palas as well as the Alber Gardens & this was well received.finally things shaping up well for next year with 72 fixtures already booked starting end of Feb.
